Corporate Stories & Interviews

Humanising business through narrative precision.

Every organisation has a soul—a collection of pivotal moments, hard-won lessons, and the unique personalities of the people who drive it. However, most corporate communication fails to capture this essence, relying instead on sterile jargon and generic mission statements. We bridge this gap by extracting the authentic narrative of your business and shaping it into a professional story that resonates with stakeholders, clients, and future talent.

Our approach to corporate storytelling is not about fabrication, but about curation. We conduct deep-dive interviews with your leadership and team members to uncover the "why" behind your operations. Whether it is a founder's journey, a project retrospective, or a series of employee spotlights, we produce editorial-grade content that positions your brand as a thought leader while maintaining a grounded, human perspective.

The Editorial Process

Transforming a raw conversation into a polished corporate feature requires a structured editorial pipeline. We ensure that the voice of the subject is preserved while the goals of the business are met.

Discovery & Angle

We begin with a briefing session to define the objective of the story. We identify the core message, the intended audience, and the specific "hook" that will make the narrative engaging rather than purely promotional.

The Deep-Dive Interview

Our editors conduct a structured interview with the subject. We use a mix of open-ended and probing questions to extract specific anecdotes and authentic quotes, moving beyond corporate scripts to find the real story.

Drafting & Narrative Arc

The raw interview data is synthesised into a cohesive narrative. We build a story arc—introduction, conflict/challenge, resolution, and future outlook—ensuring the flow is logical and the tone is appropriate for your brand.

Refinement & Approval

The draft is submitted for your review. We implement two rounds of revisions to ensure factual accuracy and tonal alignment, resulting in a final piece ready for publication across your chosen channels.

Who This Service Is For

Corporate storytelling is a powerful tool for any organisation that needs to build trust through transparency and personality. Our services are specifically tailored for:

  • B2B Companies: Who need to differentiate themselves in a crowded market by showcasing their unique methodology and the expertise of their people.
  • Tech Startups: Looking to humanise their innovation and share the "founder's journey" to attract investors and early adopters.
  • Established Firms: Celebrating anniversaries or milestones by documenting the evolution of the company through the eyes of long-term employees.
  • Non-Profit Organisations: Sharing the impact of their work through stories of the people they serve and the dedicated team behind the mission.
  • Professional Services: Law firms, consultancies, and agencies that want to highlight their intellectual capital through executive profiles.

How We Work: The Methodology

Our methodology is rooted in traditional editorial standards. We do not simply transcribe interviews; we edit for impact. This involves selecting the most potent quotes and framing them within a context that serves the business objective. We operate as an external editorial arm, providing an objective perspective that internal marketing teams often lack.

During the interview phase, we create a safe space for the subject to speak candidly. This allows us to capture the nuance of their experience. Once the interview is complete, our editorial team works to strip away the "corporate speak," replacing it with clear, evocative language that maintains professional dignity while being accessible to the reader.

We coordinate closely with your internal communications lead to ensure that the stories align with your broader content strategy. If the story is intended for a corporate magazine, we focus on depth; if it is for a LinkedIn series, we focus on punchy, shareable insights.

04

Client Preparation: What to Provide

To ensure the highest quality output and an efficient process, we ask our clients to prepare the following before the first interview:

  • The Brief: A clear description of the story's goal and the key messages that must be included.
  • Subject Background: A brief bio or LinkedIn profile of the person being interviewed to help us tailor our questions.
  • Supporting Documents: Any internal reports, project briefs, or historical data that provide context for the narrative.
  • Brand Voice Guidelines: If you have a defined style guide, providing it ensures the story fits seamlessly with your existing content.
  • Access: Coordination of a 60-90 minute window for the interview, conducted either in-person in Melbourne or via a high-quality video call.

For those unsure of how to start, we highly recommend reading our guide on preparing your team for corporate interviews, which provides a detailed checklist for subjects.

06

Timelines and Deadlines

Quality storytelling cannot be rushed, but we maintain a strict professional cadence to ensure your marketing calendar remains on track. Our average delivery time for a feature story is 5 days from the date of the interview.

The timeline typically breaks down as follows: 1-2 days for the initial draft following the interview, and 2-3 days for the revision cycles depending on your internal approval speed. Please note that urgent requests (delivery within 48 hours) are subject to a 30% urgent fee, as specified in our business rules.

We suggest booking interviews at least two weeks in advance to ensure availability of our senior editorial lead.

Frequently Asked Questions

Who owns the copyright to the final story?

What happens if the subject is not comfortable during the interview?

Our editors are trained in professional interviewing techniques. If a subject is hesitant, we pivot the conversation to areas they are comfortable with. Furthermore, the subject has the right to review the draft and request the removal of any specific quotes before the story is finalised.

Can you conduct interviews remotely?

Yes. While we prefer in-person meetings in Melbourne for deeper connection, we are fully equipped for remote interviews via Zoom or Microsoft Teams. The quality of the final narrative remains the same regardless of the medium.

How do you handle confidential company information?

Confidentiality is paramount. We adhere to the principles outlined in our Privacy Policy and can sign a specific DPA or NDA if required. Any sensitive information flagged during the interview is omitted from the final draft.
